Public Education: Fire Hydrant
Information
- Fire Hydrants are flushed out on a regular basis to be cleaned out and tested for pressure.
Regulations
- Residents and Businesses in the Indian River County area cannot paint fire hydrants, plant flowers or shrubs around them or otherwise alter them in ways that may make them difficult to find in an emergency.
- Do not park within 15 feet of a fire hydrant. This is to allow the fire engine (truck) and firefighters to easily access the fire hydrant in case of emergency.
